Clayton A. Lockett Jr., 79
of Clearfield died on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on July 18, 1926 in Madera, a son of the late Clayton A. and Pearl (Freeman) Lockett, Sr.
Mr. Lockett retired as crew chief after 42 years of service from the United Electric Cooperative. During that time he was the Union Representative.
He served with the US Navy during WW II and was a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6. He was also a member of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #540 and the Bee Hollow Hunting Camp.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel J. (Cassidy) Lockett, whom he married January 18, 1947 in First Baptist Church, Curwensville,
a daughter, Janie M. Evans and husband Richard of Clearfield;
three grandchildren, Scott A. Evans, Mark A. Lockett and Jamie L. Lockett and seven great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters and a brother, Ruth Elinsky and husband George of Clearfield, Gloria Kachman of Clearfield, Clair D. Lockett and wife Eloise of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Dennis K. Lockett and three brothers, Carl Lockett, Cyrus Frank Lockett and Rev. Lee C. Lockett.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at
2:00 P.M. with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1785.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8:00 PM and on Thursday from
1-2:00 PM
The Elks memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 45 Alliance Road, Clearfield.
