Connie Lewis, 77
of Penn Run and formerly of Clearfield died on Thursday, June 6, 2002 at her daughters home in Penn Run.
She was born on January 23, 1925 in Pietradefusi (Avellino), Italy , a daughter of the late Saviero and Carmella (Coviello) Addonizio.
Mrs. Lewis came to the United States in 1948 as a WWII war bride. She made Clearfield her home more than fifty years and worked at the former McGregor Sportswear. She was also known for her handmade embroidered linens, and her love of gardening.
Mrs. Lewis dedicated her life to her daughter and grandchildren and her strong religious beliefs. All her family and friends will sadly miss her. She will be remembered always for her caring and gentle manner and her sense of humor.
She is survived by a daughter,
Barbara Ward and husband Leslie Penn Run
three granddaughters,
Christina, Jennifer and Lindsay all of Penn Run
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Vittorio, a stepsister Pasquelina, a stepbrother Joseph and stepsister Addonetta.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Dennis C. Hadberg as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 7-9:00 PM and on Saturday from 12:30 - 1 PM
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Visiting Nurses Association Hospice, 119 Professional Center, 1265 Wayne Avenue, Indiana, PA 15701
