D. Stephen Butler, 67, of Clearfield died on Monday, September 20, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on November 14, 1942 in Altoona, a son of Jane (Bitner) Butler of Woodland and the late Emmanuel Butler.
Mr. Butler owned and operated Butler Trucking Company, Woodland.
He was a member of the Clearfield Curwensville Country Club and an active member of the Hilltop Howlers Snowmobile Club. Mr. Butler was a pilot and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobiling. He especially enjoyed spending time at his camp.
He graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1960 and Lehigh University in 1964 with a degree as a Metallurgical Engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Bell) Butler, whom he wed on June 13, 1964 in Philipsburg; a son, Donald S. Butler, Jr. and wife Bethany of Clearfield; four grandchildren, David, Kristen, Lauren and Ryan Butler; a brother and a sister, E. Steward Butler and wife Audrey of Orangeburg, SC and Nancy Bish of Philipsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son Michael S. Butler.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Hyde Wesleyan Church, Hyde on Friday at 12:00 P.M. Noon with Rev. Joe Rohrbacker officiating.
Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield.
