Daniel L. Hess, 55, of Frenchville died on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born on August 22, 1958 in Clearfield, a son of the late William and Marian (Valimont) Hess.
Mr. Hess was an equipment operator for River Hill Coal Company, Kylertown. He enjoyed radio control truck racing, wood working, and was an avid fan of NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Candy (Gormont) Hess whom he wed September 14, 2001; three children, Kristy Johnson and husband Joseph of Woodland, Kirk Hess and companion Gina Dixon of Clearfield and Troy Hess at home; four grandchildren, James, Matthew and Katelyn Johnson and Myleigh Hess; four sisters, Linda Jackson and husband Walter of Clearfield, Kathleen Rougeux and husband Stanley of Frenchville, Debora McCracken of Clearfield and Cynthia Bell and husband David of Frenchville; a brother, Larry Hess and wife Laurie of Frenchville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 North Third Street, Clearfield.
