Daniel A. Myers, 67
of Clearfield died after a fourth month illness from a gliobastoma brain tumor on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.
He was born on October 13, 1940 in Woodbury Township, Blair County, a son of Wilda F. (Showalter) Myers of Clearfield and the late Charles Myers.
Mr. Myers was employed for many years at Resco Refractories (Crescent Brick Co.). He then worked at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield and the former Clearfield True Value.
He was a graduate of Clearfield High School and the Altoona School of Commerce with a degree in accounting and administration.
He was a member for many years of the Centre Grove United Methodist Church, Clearfield and most recently attended the Hyde Wesleyan Church of Clearfield.
He also served with Habitat for Humanity and the Boy Scouts of America.
In addition, he belonged to the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, the Free and Accepted Masons, Clearfield Lodge #314, the Valley of Altoona Consistory and the Jaffa Shrine, Altoona.
Mr. Myers used his administrative ability within these organizations to the glory of God in gratitude for the saving grace of his Lord and Savior.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda (Dodson) Myers, whom he wed May 25, 1963 in Hollidaysburg,
two children, Jeffrey Aden Myers and wife Cindy of Crossville, TN, Lisa Myers Smith and husband Jeffrey of Mount Juliet, TN, four grandchildren, Connor Aden Myers, Kiara Myers, Ryan Smith, Sarah Smith,
a brother and sister, Stanley Myers and wife Iris of Clearfield, Pamela Beranty of Port Matilda
and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Hyde Wesleyan Church on Wednesday at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Robert Croft officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday from
4-7 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 2:30 – 3:00 PM.
A Masonic memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:45 PM.
