Daniel Clark "Peck" Rowles, 89
of 328 Maple Avenue, Clearfield entered into rest on Thursday, September 26, 2002 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
He was born on May 1, 1913 in Mount Joy, PA, a son of the late Aaron and Valeria (Bloom) Rowles.
Mr. Rowles was employed by Union Carbide of Niagara Falls, NY for thirty years retiring in 1968 and returning to Clearfield in 1975.
He was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield and was the longest continuing member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #812 having been a member for 67 years.
He was an avid bowler having received many trophies over the years.
Peck will always be remembered as a quiet, gentle man. Anyone who knew him, respected him and said he was a "good guy" who always had a kind word about everyone. Despite being ill for several years, he maintained his dignity and sense of humor. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
On August 14, 1940 in Clearfield, he wed the former Jane Sargent who survives along with a daughter,

four grandchildren,
Robert Maloney and wife Lisa, Robin Maloney, Bryan Lambert and Jake Lambert
a great grandson,
Tristen James Maloney
and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons James A. Rowles and Daniel C. Rowles, and these sisters and brothers, Hazel Evans, Roxie Jenkins, Bertha Scott, Sarah Ann Davis, Helen Howell, Sheldon Rowles, Vane Rowles, Woodrow Rowles and William Dunlap.
A memorial service which will include the Fraternal Order of Eagles lodge service, will be held at the West Side United Methodist Church on Tuesday October 1, 2002 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Richard B. Cartwright officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
There will be no public visitation.
