Daniel Witherite

Daniel P. Witherite , 65, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at his home.
He was born on July 1, 1947 in Clearfield, a son of Paul Witherite, Curwensville and the late Marie (Hawk) Witherite.
He was very involved with the Literacy Council at the Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Library, Clearfield where he volunteered teaching reading to many people.
Mr. Witherite was a veteran of the U. S. Navy reserves, serving during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother and two sisters, Robert A. Witherite and wife Glenna L. of Curwensville, Kathryn M. Wills and husband Dennis G. of Curwensville and Diana R. Floyd and husband Douglas E. of Mineral Springs; seven nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Tuesday at 1:00 PM with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 11 AM - 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 South Front Street, Clearfield.
