Deloris J. Hoover, 83, of Curwensville died on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the UPMC Altoona.
She was born on October 11, 1932 in Akron, OH, a daughter of the late Clinton and Ann Spencer and Nellie Ward.
Mrs. Hoover retired from Kent's Sportswear after 35 years of employment and had previously worked at McGregor's Sportswear. Mrs. Hoover loved to tend her flowers and paint various pictures and decorative pieces. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Hughy A. Hoover whom she wed September 22, 1952; two children, Chuck Hoover and wife Sue of Clearfield and Valerie Ireland and husband Mike Sr. of Curwensville; four grandchildren, Kristy Strishock and husband Mark, Cory Hoover and wife Megan, Angela Ireland and Michael Ireland Jr. and wife Joy; eight great grandchildren, Jayden, Jakob, Jasa, Jackson, Grace, Jaelynn, David and Alessia; three brothers, Max Spencer, Melvin Spencer and wife Norma and Denny Spencer and wife Doris.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Clark, Midge Mahlon and Cleda Peters; and three brothers, Rev. Clinton Spencer, Jr., Hobert Spencer and Donald Spencer.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11 AM.
