Dennis Luzier

Dennis Luzier, 67, of West Decatur passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at his home.

He was born on November 4, 1953 in Clearfield, a son of the late Alfred and Sara (Jordan) Luzier.

Dennis worked as a transportation equipment operator for PennDOT for many years.

He enjoyed stock car racing where he drove car #4 to victory at the original Hidden Valley Speedway, and also enjoyed watching NASCAR where he always rooted for Fords. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins and liked to watch their games.

Dennis was a member of Old Town Sportsmen's Club; and the AFSCME Union.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol (Surkovich) Luzier whom he wed June 19, 1976 in Houtzdale; a daughter, Allison Kephart and husband Jack of Houtzdale; granddaughter the apple of Pappy's eye, Adelyn Holt; four siblings, Bill Luzier and wife Linda of Kansas, Jane Dixon and husband Elroy of Wallaceton, Tom Luzier and wife Colleen of Spring Valley, and Danny Luzier and companion Fonda of Clearfield; three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Luzier and Joelene Luzier of Clearfield, and Nancy Surkovich of Downington; mother-in-law, Mary Surkovich of Atlantic; two brothers-in-law, Richard Gingras of Massachusetts, and Jim Surkovich and wife Sherrie of Clearfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, Tuface the cat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sheridan Luzier and John Luzier; two sisters, Sara Ann Luzier and Nancy Gingras; father-in-law, Vincent Surkovich; brother-in-law, David Surkovich; and two fur buddies, Jager and Zoey.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 10 AM with Fr. Brandon M. Kleckner as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Tuesday from 4-7 PM and Wednesday from 9-9:30 AM.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the hospice nurses, Melissa, Megan, Beth, and Laurie who took care of Dennis the past two years. They were awesome and so very caring. An additional most profound thank you to the CNA, Tammy, who was the family's angel on earth. Dennis loved you and the care you gave him. It made his time so much easier to endure. Yes, you were the favorite!
