Dennis C. Pannacci, 70 Curwensville died on Monday, August 31, 2009 at his residence.
He was born on November 21, 1938 in Clearfield, a son of the late Cloyd and Melva (Barr) Pannacci.
Mr. Pannacci served as Executive Director for the PA Department of Welfare, retiring after 29 years of employment.
He had previously been employed with the Bureau of Rehabilitation at DuBois and the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington DC.
While in Washington in 1968, he was a volunteer in the office of Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
He received a bachelor's degree in language and journalism from Kent State University and a master's degree in social work from Rutgers University in 1975.
He was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, the National Association of Social Workers, and the Clearfield Hospital Advisory Committee and served on the board of Central Pennsylvania Community Action. He was also a member of the Curwensville Cemetery Association, the Salvation Army and the Clearfield County Board of Assistance.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville on Friday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Alison W. Grove officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the Chapel of Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville on Friday from Noon-1:00 PM
