Donna J. Kurtz , 87

of Clearfield died on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at her home.

She was born on August 8, 1928 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Hiram and Bessie (Buck) Shaw.

Mrs. Kurtz was employed by JC Penney for 27 years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield and the Coterie Club. She and her husband enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV, having visited all 48 states with their dog Angel. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, Austin L. Kurtz whom she married on September 20, 1947 at West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield; three sons, Randall Kurtz and wife Barbara of St. Mary's and their children, Julia Horn, Abigail Billotte, Emily Bolasky and Ryan Kurtz; Larry Kurtz and wife Deby of Harrisburg and their daughter Jessica Helmer; Dennis Kurtz of Curwensville and his children, Stephanie, Christopher and Nathan Kurtz; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Shaw of Cleveland, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Ian Kurtz; two sisters and a brother, Beverly Sayers, Esther Buzzard and Wayne Shaw.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at 6:00 pm with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.
