Donna V. Shaffer, 83, of Grampian died on Monday, April 16, 2007 at her residence.
She was born on July 22, 1923 in Altoona a daughter of the late Fred S. and Lorna (Newcomer) Lowther.
Mrs. Shaffer was employed at the former Kantar's Store in Curwensville and also at JC Penney of Clearfield.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grampian.
She is survived by four children, Deanne Elaine Shaffer of Curwensville, Rebecca Lee and husband Dennis of Curwensville, George Allen Shaffer of Grampian and Kathleen Carol Lumadue of Curwensville; six grandchildren,
Tracy Marie Lee, Jamie Lyn Lee, Justin Allen Shaffer, John Christopher Lumadue, Shannon George Shaffer and Deanne Michelle Kline; and and two great granddaughters, Amanda Lee and Hannah Lee-Wells.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Shaffer on October 4, 2004 and whom she married December 31, 1941. She as the last member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Emmett Anderson will officiate and interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
There will be no public visitation.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 26 S Second Street, Clearfield.
