Dorothy Hugney

Dorothy Ann Hugney, 90, of Frenchville died on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Clearfield Hospital.

She was born on July 3, 1920 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Nestor C. and Edna Jane (Gormont) Frelin.

Mrs. Hugney was employed at H. Brusca Nursery, Frenchville, Herb and Tom's Gateway Market and McGregor's Sportswear, both of Clearfield.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She also belonged to the Karthaus Senior Center.

She is survived by two children, Philip Hugney and wife Jeanne of Frenchville and Cecelia 'Cece' Kelly of Clearfield; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother Donald Frelin and wife Jean of Greensburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony August Hugney on December 10, 1964 and whom she married June 5, 1940 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Frenchville, a son August Hugney and a brother Lawrence Frelin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville on Friday at 11 AM with Rev. David A. Perry, Jr. and Rev. Samuel G. Bungo as celebrants. Interment will follow in the Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 4-7 PM and on Friday from 9-10 AM at which time the Rosary will be recited.

A Christian Vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 88 St. Mary’s Lane, Frenchville, PA 16836 or to the Clearfield Foundation for Health-Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield.
