Dorothy Mae 'Dottie' McBride, 88, of Clearfield died on January 14, 2023 at her home.

She was born on June 26, 1934 in Mineral Springs, a daughter of the late Edward G. and Bessie E. (Stevens) Hull.

Dottie attended the Woodland Elementary School and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1952. She retired in 1992 as a caseworker for the Department of Public Welfare after 19 years of service. Previously, she was employed from 1973-1978 at the Bureau of Employment Security. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens and scrapbooking. Family was very important to her as she was known as Mom Mom to most of them and their families.

With her lord and savior as the most integral part of her life, she attended the Community Baptist Church, Bloomington as well as being an active friend with several other area churches. She joined the N.O.N. Club in 1983, Order of Eastern Star in 1995 and began volunteering for Clearfield Hospice in 2000 and Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging. Dottie felt blessed to be part of the Owen and Althea Irwin family as well as the Jack Irwin family.

She is survived by four children, Edward J. McBride and wife Tammy of Clearfield, Tamara McQuillen of Woodland, Alan T. McBride of Clearfield, and P. Ryan McBride and wife Diane of Clearfield; ten grandchildren, Heather Kirby and husband James, Kelly McBride, Amber Shaw and husband Todd, Shaleigh Faieta and husband Brandon, Shaina McBride, Shawn McBride, Jackie Peters, Shane Peters, Robyn McBride and fiance Quinton Neff, Chet Cartwright; several great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; a sister, Judy Wilkinson of Clearfield; two sisters-in-law, Mona McBride Lenhart, and Judy McBride Swisher and husband Bill; and a brother-in-law, Donald Ardary and wife Dallas of Clearfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick McBride on September 26, 2000 and whom she wed June 19, 1953. She was also preceded in death by her fiance, Jack Irwin on August 18, 2008; an infant daughter, Robin McBride; two grandsons, Jason McBride and Adam Cartwright; a great grandson, Tyler Kirby; and a son-in-law, Clyde McQuillen Jr.

Funeral services will be held at the Community Baptist Church, Curwensville on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 4-7 PM and at the church on Thursday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospice; Community Baptist Church, Curwensville; or charity of choice.
