Douglas A. McGovern, 60, of Cambridge Springs, formerly of Frenchville, passed peacefully surrounded by family on May 18, 2023 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born on January 28, 1963, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Donald Sr and Laura (Nelson) McGovern.
Doug was an electrician all of his life, working mostly for the Hite Company. He had also been a co-owner of the former Timberline Furniture. In his spare time, Doug enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, camping, and being a “Mr. fix-it”. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frenchville.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda K. (Plubell) McGovern whom he wed August 25, 1984; two children, Kurt McGovern and wife Courtney of Saegertown, Kenzie Delp and significant other Eddy Brown of Venango, and four grandchildren, Maverick McGovern, Annabelle McGovern, Evelyn McGovern, and Abraham Delp; two brothers, Donald McGovern, Jr. of Frenchville, and Dave McGovern of Clearfield; and two sisters, Debbie Wilsoncroft and husband Bob of Tiverton, RI, and Tammy Elesnky and husband Larry of Morrisdale.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Sunday at 3 PM with Raymond Stiner officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 PM - 3 PM.
