Drexel C. Demi, 88, of Clearfield passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Mountain Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on October 21, 1935 in Clearfield, a son of the late Lewis and Carrie (Brady) Demi, and a 1953 graduate of Clearfield Area High School.
After graduation, Mr. Demi was employed as a plumber at Lewis Demi and Sons Plumbing until 1967. He then joined the Plumbers’ Union and worked throughout Pennsylvania until 1983. He then worked for R.D. Goss, Inc. until his retirement.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. In his youth, he was an avid baseball player, pitching both in Clearfield and in a training program in Florida hosted by the New York Yankees. He loved cars, hunting in Colorado, and traveling to Benezette with his family to see the elk.
He is survived by his wife, Mona (Luzier) Demi, whom he wed in 1960 at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Clearfield; two children, Chris Demi of Brookville and Kimberly Demi of Clearfield (and significant other Thad Swales of Hermitage); and two grandsons, Christopher Renaud of Wilmington, DE, and Connor Renaud (and wife Lindsey) of Knightdale, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathy Sue Demi; two brothers, Lewis Demi and Gordon Demi; and a sister, Dolores Ogden.
Honoring Mr. Demi’s wishes, there will be no public services.
