Duane H. "Keppy" Kephart, 57 of Woodland died on Monday, August 27, 2007 at DuBois Regional Medical Center - West.
He was born on January 31, 1950 in Bradford Township, a son of the late Lillian M. (Kephart) Wright.
Duane was employed since 1984 by Clearfield County Investigators and was the supervisor of Security at Clearfield Hospital. Prior to that, he was employed by the former Harbison Walker Refractory for 15 years.
A protestant saved by the blood of Jesus, he enjoyed reading the bible with his wife.
Duane was a graduate of the Clearfield County Vocational Technical School and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He received a Private Investigator license, an Electrician license and a Locksmith license.
He was a member of AARP and the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc.
Duane and his wife enjoyed leisurely rides in the car over the rolling mountains. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, Mona J. (Wright) Kephart, whom he wed August 4, 1973 in Woodland; five brothers and five sisters, Gordon Hummel of Salem, Jesse Hummel and wife Kate of Clearfield, Boyd Hummel of Clearfield, Edward Hummel and wife of Trish of Bigler, Wilma Wright of Shiloh, Eleanor Glace and husband Leonard of Shawville, Helen Bumbarger and husband Ronald of Woodland, Ross Wright and wife Dawn of Woodland, Jeanie Baney of Herndon and Margaret Buck and husband Charles of Bald Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a son Duane Kephart, Jr. in 1972 and two sisters Cora Belle Hummel and Dorothy Rauch.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brenda Libreatori officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m.
