E. Wilt

E. Mona Wilt, 95, of Clearfield, passed away on Sunday May 18, 2008 at her residence. She was born January 16, 1913, the daughter of the late Milford Cortez Bloom and Clara (Murphy) Bloom.

On November 5, 1931, she married William M. Wilt in Cumberland, MD. He preceded her in death in July 1978.

Mrs. Wilt worked as a cashier for the A&P Tea Company for approximately 16 years. Prior to her marriage, she was an operator for the Bell Telephone Company, working out of the Curwensville exchange. Mrs. Wilt was also a member of the Clearfield Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Dr. John W. Wilt of Sayre, PA on May 1, 2008, two sisters Wilma Straw and Elizabeth DeMi, two brothers, Havard Bloom and Robison Murphy and a son-in-law Paul F. Johnston, Jr.

Survivors include a daughter Rebecca Johnston of Clearfield; sisters Mary Jane Grey of Columbus, NJ and Maxine Byers of Myrtle Beach, SC; and a daughter-in-law Alice D. Wilt of Sayre, PA. Also surviving are grandchildren Paula Witherite and her husband Lester of Grampian, William M. Wilt and his wife Jessie of Madison, NJ, Anne Poorman and her husband Jeff of Bronxville, NY, Carolyn Dean and her husband Craig of Waxhaw, NC, Dorinda Kennedy and her husband PJ, Angie Sullivan and her husband Jake, both of Ridgebury PA, and Darrin Olmstead and his wife Alison of Athens, PA. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Joseph and Elizabeth Witherite, John Spencer, Carrie and Greg Poorman, Emily and Andrea Dean, Betsy, Kathryn, Jack and Madeline Wilt, Ryan and Nathan Kennedy, Harley and Cameron Sullivan and Delaney Olmstead. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Rodger J. Gorton officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-2:00 PM
