Edgar E. "Eddie" Davis, 82, of Clearfield died on Monday, November 27, 2006 at Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on October 5, 1924 in Woodland, a son of the late Willis and Olive (Wisor) Davis.
Mr. Davis was employed by the former Riverside Markets as a Produce Manager for 31 years. He was also co-owner of Wilson's Delight, West Decatur.
He attended the Blue Ball Grade School, West Decatur and was a graduate of Philipsburg High School.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Clearfield Council #409. In addition he was a 50 year member of the Clearfield Second Ward Fire Company.
He served in the US Army during World War II and was a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6.
He is survived by his wife, Isabella M. (Campbell) Davis, whom he wed November 20, 1948 in Coalport; a daughter, Shirley Rowles and husband Richard of Clearfield; two grandsons, Richard Rowles and wife Margarita of Las Vegas, NV and Michael Rowles of Clearfield; two great granddaughters; two sisters and one brother, Dolores Valenza of Clearfield, Dixie Catherine and husband Don of Philipsburg and Denny Davis and wife Shirley of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister LaVaughn Adamson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1785.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 9 9:30 AM.
