Edith Hitchcock

Edith Mae Hugar Hitchcock, 76, of Lock Haven, and formerly of Clearfield, died on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Lock Haven Hospital.

She was born on June 9, 1933 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Daniel and Ruby (Keller) Zortman.

Mrs. Hitchcock was a homemaker. She was Christian by faith.

She is survived by two children, Patricia McFarland and her husband, Rich, of Red Lion and Norbert R. Hugar and his wife, Beverly, of Sharon; two grandchildren, Stephanie Cascadden and Richard McFarland II, both of Manchester; a great granddaughter, Kailynn Cascadden; four brothers, Earl Zortman and his wife, Betty, of State College, Allen Zortman of Grampian, Russell Zortman and his wife, Goldie, of Clearfield, and Ronald Zortman of Curwensville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Hugar in 1980 and whom she married in 1957, and four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. with Minister Isaiah Krause officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville, RD.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
