Edith A. Ransel, 71
of Clearfield died on Friday, March 14, 2003 at Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on October 9, 1931 in Brookville, PA, a daughter of the late Carlton and Laura (Yeaney) Steele.
Mrs. Ransel was employed as the receptionist for the late Dr. Russel A. Boykiw. She had also been employed by Sylvania Electric Products in Brookville. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, and was a member and past president of the Clearfield Womens Club.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde A Ransel, Jr., whom she married October 27, 1951 in Sigel,

Anita Sue Mead and husband Thomas Bushkill

Harry Lee Steele and wife Patricia Brookville
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Gordon Steele.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be said on Monday at 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund , 212 South Front Street, Clearfield PA 16830.
