Edward J. Domanick, 82
of Clearfield died on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on February 25, 1930 in Houtzdale, a son of the late George and Gladys (Archer) Domanick.
Mr. Domanick was employed as a lumber jack and also in the construction business.
He was a former featherweight boxing champion.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean Conflict .
He is survived by his wife, Eileen M. (Dixon) Domanick whom he wed December 22, 1979 in Ashland; a daughter, Holly Jackson and her husband Leon of Philipsburg; a granddaughter, Anamaria Jackson, who was his pride and joy; four sisters and a brother, Dorothy Sheaffer of Carlisle, Peg Shimmel of Wallaceton, Shirley Botwright and her husband William of CA, Beverly Beck and her husband Roy of Port Matilda, Gloria Ranker of York and a brother, Donald Domanick and wife Eileen of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother, Georgia Hilliard, Helen Phillips, Ruth Quick and Tom Domanick.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 2 PM with Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Interment will be in the Reidy Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from Noon until 2 PM.
