Edward Jezewski

Edward W. Jezewski, 95, of Clearfield died on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

He was born on October 3, 1928 in Tower Hill, a son of the late James and Elizabeth (Borchin) Jezewski.

Mr. Jezewski was a US World War II Navy Veteran on board the USS Okanogan APA-200, having served from 1946 - 1948 . Upon returning home, he became a trooper with the PA State Police Troop C in 1953 and retired as Sergeant-Commander of the Woodland Barracks in 1980. Mr. Jezewski was an accomplished accordion player and loved polka music. He cherished his time spent with family and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. During his retirement, Mr. Jezewski became quiet crafty, especially making pins and magnets to give to people everywhere he went.

Mr. Jezewski was a member of the PA State Police Retirees Association, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #65, the Clearfield American Legion, the American Association of State Troopers, the PA State Police - HEMC, and the Clearfield VFW.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Stiner and husband John of Clearfield and their two sons Alex and wife Krya and Ethan and wife Taylor, and Cheryl Flaherty and husband Robert of Mechanicsburg and their daughter Kara; a brother-in-law, Albert 'Abe' Blose of DuBois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian K. (Blose) Jezewski whom he wed June 7, 1961. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony, Joseph, Frank, and Thomas; and three sisters-in-law, Hazel Jezewski, Janet Worting, and Kay Blose.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at Noon with Fr. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Interment will be in the Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.

Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Thursday from 4 PM - 7 PM and on Friday from 11-11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the PA State Police Museum, PSP-HEMC, 187 E. Hershey Park Drive, Hershey, PA 17033; or to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Road, Falls Creek, PA 15840.
