Edwin B. Kitchen, 81, of Clearfield died on Monday, August 7, 2023 at his home.
He was born on October 11, 1941 in Clearfield, a son of the late Oscar and Ann (Koresko) Kitchen.
Ed retired as an owner/operator in the trucking business. He had previously been employed in the trucking department at Clearfield Cheese for over 30 years. He was a car guru who loved working on cars, especially antiques. He also enjoyed going to car shows. Ed was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and snow-mobiling.
He was a member of Clearfield VFW and served with the U. S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by three children, Lance Shomo and wife Shelly of Clearfield, Gretchen Kitchen of Destin, FL, and Melissa Kitchen and significant other Dave Bush of Destin, FL; six grandchildren, Justin Shomo, Lindsey Shomo, Jamie Wassel, Jessica Starr, Alexis Shomo, and Jazlynn Shomo; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Kitchen and Dan Kitchen; and two sisters, Joanne Kitchen and Diane Luzier.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Firmin Kitchen.
A memorial services will be held at the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church, Clearfield on Friday at 5 PM with Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at church by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
