Edythe Uplinger

March 20, 1910 — October 10, 2006

Edythe F. Uplinger, 96, of Curwensville died on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at her residence.

She was born on March 20, 1910 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late F. Cline and Code (Haney) Farwell.

Mrs. Uplinger was a homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield where she was a former trustee.
A founding member of the Curwensville-Pike Township Historical Society and the Clearfield Historical Society, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Colonists.
In addition, she was a member of the Garden Club of Clearfield, the Jr. Women’s Club of Clearfield and the Grange.
She was a past Commissioner of Girl Scouts of Clearfield and performed civic work with the American Caner Society.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia V. Brown of Riverside, CT and Penelope V. Morrow and husband Richard L. of Freeport; four grandchildren, Jeffery Brown, Rebecca Brown, R. Matthew Morrow and Megan J. Williams; three great grandchildren; and a sister, June Bloom and husband James of State College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman D. Uplinger in May 1955 and whom she married January 30, 1932; a grandson David Brown, a son-in-law Robert D. Brown, two brothers Nathan Farwell and Franklin Lewis and two sisters Clair Art and Dorothy Smith.

At the request of Mrs. Uplinger there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
