Eleanor Smith McCurley, 68
died on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 in Avon, CT.
She was born on January 6, 1935 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Frank G. and Eleanor (Usher) Smith.
She was a graduate of the former St. Francis High School in Clearfield and Smith College of Massachusetts.
A loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother of Ellen McCurley of Newtonville, MA and her two children, Eleanor and James Donovan;
Wendy and Steve Rosenthal of Boylston, MA and their two sons, Matthew and Scott;
Catherine and Brian Donnally of Madison, NJ and their three children, John, Peter and Lucy.
Beloved sister of Catherine Smith Felleman of New York, NY and William Usher Smith of Clearfield.
Aunt Wamo was cherished by her niece Cynthia Smith of Portsmouth, NH and nephew Peter Smith of Clearfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Smith.
Forever remembered by her friends and family as a woman of courage and charity who loved to laugh, read, speak Italian, attend concerts, visit museums and walk her dog, Claude.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. John R. Chaplin as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sierra Club Foundation or the Nature Conservatory.
