Eleanor Russell

Eleanor Marie Russell, 86, of Curwensville died on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at her residence.

She was born on April 30, 1923 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late James and Viola (Ruffner) Bumbarger.

Mrs. Russell worked as a nurse's aide at Amity Nursing Home (now Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center). She is a past member of the Altar and Rosary Society and she taught the First Communion Classes at St. Timothy's Catholic Church. She was an avid crafter, baker, and a member of the Wednesday ladies card club.

She is survived by three daughters and three sons, Patricia Shannon, Audrey Crawford, Charlotte "Jean" Passmore, Kenneth Russell, Donald Russell and Richard Russell; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Charles Russell, Jr, whom she wed on April 3, 1945; one daughter, Cheryl Ann; and two sisters, Mary and Dolly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Curwensville on Wednesday, November 25 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Mark Mastrian and Deacon Tony Indelicato as concelebrants. Interment will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10-10:30 a.m.

At the funeral home on Tuesday, the Rosary will be recited at 2:00 PM and a Christian wake service will be held at 7:30 PM.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Circle of Friends of Hospice, % Annie Lumadue, 286 West Pauline Drive, Clearfield.
