Elizabeth Weisgerber

March 12, 1920 — March 8, 2017

Elizabeth Woods Weisgerber, 96, of Frenchville died on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her residence.

She was born on March 12, 1920 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late John and Hilda (Kephart) Woods.

Mrs. Weisgerber was a graduate of Clearfield High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Education from the West Chester State Teachers College. She was employed at Kennett Square Jr-Sr High School. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and knitting.

She is survived by two sons John C. Weisgerber and wife Robin of Downers Grove, IL and William A. Weisgerber and wife Bobbye of McHenry, IL; four grandchildren, Adam C. Weisgerber of Boulder, CO, Aaron Cyrus Weisgerber wife of Rachel of Bend, OR, Alexander R. Weisgerber and wife Anne of Chicago, IL and William Aaron Weisgerber and wife Naomi of Milwaukee, WI; seven great grandchildren; and a sisters, Thelma Cruikshank of Riverside, CA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus Aaron Weisgerber on June 25, 2010. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Gloria Luzier, Marjorie Barr and Ester Welker.

A graveside service will be held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield on Monday at 11 AM with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper officiating.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Education Foundation, PO Box 510, Clearfield.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of arrangements.
