Elizabeth Beauseigneur Wilson, 84, of Clearfield died on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on February 2, 1927 in Karthaus, a daughter of the late Sheridan and Josephine (Rolley) Beauseigneur.
Following graduation from St. Francis School, Betty was employed at The Progress until the birth of her first child. She then devoted her time to raising her three children and caring for her husband. During that time, she volunteered at the St. Francis school cafeteria for 18 years.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. Her love for traveling took her many places including Finland, Cuba, Hawaii and Mexico. She was known as a 'newshound', always enjoying learning about world and national news. Mrs. Wilson loved to garden where she was fond of feeding the birds and working with her flowers. She also cherished the family vacations at the seashore.
Betty loved all the various pets her family members acquired over the years, but especially loved her own cat Posey, who was her constant companion.
She is survived by three children, Robert Wilson and wife Sally of Clearfield, Patricia W. Falcone and husband Donald of Johnstown, Nancy W. Nolan and husband Ambassador Robert B. Nolan of Reston, VA,
eight grandchildren, Seth B. Wilson, Emily J. Wilson, Ashley J. Wilson and wife Jane, Katherine E. Smith and husband Michael, John B. Lovette III, Meghan N. Killiany and husband Steven, Ryan B. Nolan and Colleen M. Nolan,
five great grandchildren, Alexandra, Ethan, Eric, Abbey and Kaitlyn,
three sisters, Regina Gettig of Boalsburg, Darlene Newman of Fayatteville, Carolyn Waldman of Piscataway, NJ and seven nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Wilson on February 9, 1994 and whom she married in St. Francis Catholic Church on November 26, 1948; a sister Dorothy Marie Lingerski and a brother Robert Beauseigneur.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. Henry L. Krebs as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 9-9:30 AM.
At the funeral home on Wednesday, a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 1:45 PM and the Rosary will be recited at 5:45 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield.
