Ella Conklin

Ella Jane Conklin, 78 of Clearfield died on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Knickerbocker Villa in Clearfield.

She was born on October 19, 1926 in Penfield, a daughter of the late James Peter and Alice Priscilla (Jones) Burkett.

Mrs. Conklin retired from the Clearfield Hospital in 1992 where she was employed for a total of 47 years with the last 37 years working as registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit.
From 1945-1948 she served as a cadet army nurse having received her RN training at Clearfield Hospital with the Cadet Army Corps.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield Hospital Nurses Alumni and AARP.
She was a volunteered for the Red Cross and assisted at many blood pressure clinics.

She is survived by two children, Joan C. Snyder of Clearfield and Jeffrey H. Conklin and wife Debora L. of New Millport, four grandchildren, Ronald Lee Snyder, Jr., Laura Anne Stanton, Jennifer Ann Conklin, Carrie Lynn Conklin, three great grandsons, Darin Billotte, Matthew Lee Snyder, and Michael William Snyder, five sisters and a brother, Joyce M. Conklin and husband Robert of Clearfield, Autumn J. Watson and husband Ed of Clearfield, Roberta Mullaney and husband James of St. Mary's, Arnold W. Burkett and wife Patty of Penfield, Aurea A. Weaver and husband Ronald of NJ and Linda O. Scanish and husband William of Penfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Conklin on June 9, 1986 and whom she married August 19, 1947 in Kenmore, NY and a brother James G. Burkett.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at
10:30 A.M. with Rev. Kevin Locker officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
