Emerson D. Stephens, 79, of Woodland died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on April 29, 1927 in Mineral Springs, a son of the late Donald and Agnes (Dunlap) Stephens.
Mr. Stephens retired from the former Harbison Walker Refractories upon its closing.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WW II and was a member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #812.
He is survived by three sons, Donald Stephens and wife Linda of Clearfield, William Stephens and wife Janet of Clearfield and Emery Stephens and companion Cindy Reed of Woodland; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Isabelle Lansberry of Beaver Falls and Ava Domblisky of Philipsburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his long time companion, Elizabeth Ogden and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and Clearfield VFW Post #1785
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-9:00 PM and on Friday from 10-11:00 AM.
