Emily M. Grimminger, 94, of Clearfield died on Monday, April 8, 2024 at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born on January 8, 1930 in Mifflin County, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Shawver) Brinton.
Mrs. Grimminger, alongside her husband Bob, owned and operated Bob's Army and Navy, which opened in 1948. She was active in the business for over 60 years.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Clearfield, the Order of Eastern Star, the NON Club of Clearfield, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two children, Robert Grimminger and wife Sherry of Clearfield, and Patti Semelsberger and husband Jim of Clearfield; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert 'Bob' Grimminger on February 6, 2015 and whom she wed on April 18, 1948 in Winchester, VA. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Elizabeth Berfield and her late husband Eugene; a brother, Frank Brinton and his late wife Rosemary; and a sister, Rose Marie Platt.
Funeral services will be held at Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday at 11 AM with Dr. Duane White officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Thursday from 4-8 PM and on Friday from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John Lutheran Church, PO Box 1454, Clearfield, PA 16830.
