Esther R. Kephart, 91
of Shawville died on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born on November 19, 1917 in Shawville, a daughter of the late Henry and Minnie (Dixon) Kyler.
Mrs. Kephart owned and operated Kephart's store and restaurant in Shawville for a number of years.
She attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield and was a youth leader in the Egypt and Croft churches.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Debra Thompson of DuBois, Jill Tekely of Osceola Mills, five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and a son-in-law, Clifford Thompson of Glendale.
Mrs. Kephart was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd L. Kephart on December 10, 2001 and whom she married July 26, 1935 in Woodland, a daughter E. Lorraine Thompson, two sisters Margaret McCracken and Bertha Graham and five brothers Walter, Everett, Emmerson, Millard and Austel Kyler.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at
11 AM with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield or to the Living Bread Ministries, 628 Daisy Street, Clearfield.
