Eva B. Martell, 100
of Surveyor, RD#2, Clearfield died on Sunday, September 15, 2002 at her residence.
She was born on February 7, 1902 in Pottersdale, PA, a daughter of the late George and Ida (Rupt) Stiner.
As a young girl, she and her family moved to LeContes Mills. On October 22, 1919 she wed Wilbur Martell and together they owned and operated the Martell Mining Company. From 1977 on, she diligently worked to build up the LeContes Mills Fire Company and subsequently was recognized for her vast accomplishments with the department.
Mrs. Martell and her husband were instrumental in the forming of the Church of Christ on River Street in Clearfield, to which she was an active member.
She is survived by three children,

19 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and great, great, great grandchildren,
a brother and sister,

Ada Griffith both of LeContes Mills
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Martell on July 14, 1970,
an infant daughter, Ivy, a son Floyd, a great, great grandson and eight brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at
3:00 P.M. with Evangelist Raymond Stiner officiating. Interment will follow in the Gillingham Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from
2 3:00 PM.
