F. Blair Kelly, 95
of Clearfield died on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on July 22, 1914 in Curwensville, a son of the late John Martin and Matilda (Swatsworth) Kelly.
Mr. Kelly retired as food manager from Clearfield Community Action after 20 years of service.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clearfield where he served many terms as trustee.
He also served as an escort at the Clearfield Hospital for many years.
A WW II veteran of the US Army, he attained the rank of Buck Sergeant and received 5 Battle Stars from North Africa, Sicily, Rhine River, North Italy and Poe Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. 'Dot' (Thompson) Kelly, whom he wed July 5, 1941 in Winchester, VA,
a son, Daniel M. Kelly and wife Pamela G. of Clearfield,
six grandchildren, Amy Holland, Stephanie Kelly, Laura Kelly, Elizabeth Kelly, Casey Davis, Trampas Carns,
six great grandchildren,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, three brothers Woodrow, Alfred and William and six sisters Lucille, Florence, Mildred, Winifred, Anna and Evelyn .
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at
11:30 AM with Pastor Robert Achey officiating. Interment will follow in the Thompson Cemetery, Glen Richey.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1785.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 AM until the hour of the service.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 111 North Second Street, Clearfield or to the charity of one's choice.
