Frances Lorraine 'Fran' Mokulehua, 76, of Curwensville died on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born on March 20, 1937 in Red Bluff, CA, a daughter of the late Arthur Lile and Harriet Lorene Elam (Fries) Turner.
Mrs. Mokulehua was a chef for 38 years who owned and operated many restaurants and a corporate catering business, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Curwensville where she served on the Board of Directors of Thrivent. Fran was also a member of the Curwensville American Legion Joshua Earl Sipes Post #505, the General Federation of Women's Club and served as president of the Women's WELCA.
She is survived by her husband, Victor K. Mokulehua, Jr. whom she wed January 14, 1967 in Oakland, CA; a daughter, LaVeda Hicks and husband Norman 'Wayne' of Grampian; two grandchildren Dr. Mitchell Hicks and wife Natalia of Evanston, IL and Dr. Megan Elizabeth Hicks of Twinsburg, OH; two great grandchildren, Hannah and Gabriel; five sisters, Loretta Burgess and husband Roger of CA, Alberta Niegle of CA, Kathy Turner of Panama, Karen Crawford of CA and Bobbi Lynn Hooten of CA; three brothers, Lyle Arthur Turner of CA, Theodore Turner of AZ and Joey Turner of CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Monday at 11 AM with Rev. Richard Steuernagle officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 PM and on Monday from 10-11 AM .
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Grace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 406 Pine St, Curwensville.
