Frances L. Russell, 75, of Curwensville, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born on August 7, 1947 in DuBois, a daughter of the late George and Dorothy Snyder Groves.
Fran graduated from Curwensville High School and worked at Superior Pet Products, Kents Sportswear, Berg Electronics and Appalachian Wood Products, from where she retired.
Fran loved her flowers, gardening, blue birds, hummingbirds and especially her pet chipmunks. She also loved to read.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Russell and wife Linda; a brother, Don Groves; two granddaughters, Nicole Russell and Lyndsay Hardin; four great grandchildren, Cassie, Jordan, Addy and Ayden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Charles Russell on May 6, 2014 and whom she wed September 26, 1965. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Russell; and eight siblings, George Groves II, Zelpha Bonnett, Lois Smith, Howard Groves, Mick Himes, an infant Ellen Groves, Tom Groves and Norma Dixon.
There will be no public visitation or memorial services. Internment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Curwensville Library, 601 Beech Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
