Frances D. Stevens, 94

of Woodland died on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born on March 10, 1909 in Boggs Township, PA, a daughter of the late John and Molly (Thomas) Shaw.

Mrs. Stevens was employed at the former McGregor's Sportswear for 35 years, retiring in 1971.
She was a member of the former Main Street United Methodist Church, Woodland for sixty years and served for 42 years as a youth group leader. She was affiliated with the Lake Street United Methodist Church, Woodland and was a past member of the Grandmother's Club.

She is survived by a daughter,
Priscilla Owens and husband Geynet Woodland

five grandchildren,
Edwin Owens and wife Patti Watsontown
Brian Owens and wife Karen Woodland
Holly Carr and husband Robert Morrisdale
Shawn Owens and wife Debbie Morrisdale
Michele Dixon and husband Richard Clearfield

16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walton R. Stevens on May 8, 1971 and whom she wed December 9, 1928 in Philipsburg, two great grandsons, Ivan Ray Berringer and Kevin Shane Owens and these brothers and sisters, Newton, James, Jenning, Ruben and Robert Shaw and Bess Gilman, Cora Shugarts, Matilda Moore, Maude Williams, Amanda Bell Lindsay and Mary Hull. She was the last of her generation.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at
2:00 P.M. with Rev. Thomas Irwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 3-9:00 PM and on Saturday from 1-2:00 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Senior Citizens Center, 103 N. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
