Francis Harasti

Francis H. "Boney" Harasti, 72

of Legion Road, Clearfield died on Monday, January 5, 2004 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on August 9, 1931 in Clearfield, a son of the late Francis and Gladys (Hoover) Harasti.

Mr. Harasti was previously employed with Martin-Marietta Corporation at Quehanna, the former Robinson Clay Products and retired as a corrections officer from the Clearfield County Jail.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict and a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6.

He is survived by two sisters,

Theresa Ammerman Clearfield

numerous nieces and nephews including Roemehl Hawkins and Lisa Richtscheit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sophia S. (Tarbay) Harasti, on September 25, 1993 and whom he married October 20, 1956 in Hawk Run, and two sisters Sandra M. Hawkins and Joan B. White.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at
10:00 AM with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Saint Peter & Paul Church Cemetery, Hawk Run.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 6-9 PM

A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:30 PM

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 119 East Market Street, Clearfield, PA 16830
