Frederick Mckenzie

Fred I. McKenzie, 68

of Clearfield died on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at his residence.

He was born on November 25, 1935 in Clearfield, a son of the late Harvey Legrande McKenzie and Ethel (Albright) McKenzie.

Mr. McKenzie retired from Montgomery Ward, DuBois after many years of service. Prior to that he was employed by McKenzie Tire Service, later becoming the owner.
He was an active member of The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield, serving as deacon, usher and greeter.
A veteran of the US Army, he served his country from 1958 until 1964 with Company A 1st Battle Group of the 87th Infantry Division.
Mr. McKenzie was a member of Clearfield Fire Company Number One, the Mosquito Creek Sportsman's Club, the Nittany Lion Club and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by three children,
Michael S. McKenzie and wife Karen Clearfield
Scott A. McKenzie Frenchville
Tammy Lonjin Charlottesville, VA

six grandchildren,
Kristen, Matthew, David and John McKenzie and Tyler and Taylor Lonjin.

and his former spouse,
Carolyn Lachemayer Fort Myers, FL

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Harvey McKenzie.

Funeral services will be held at The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield on Monday at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Douglas S. Pride officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Sunday from
2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Monday at the church from 10-11:00 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Presbyterian Church, 119 N. Second Street, Clearfield or to the Fred McKenzie Memorial Girls Basketball Scholarship, in care of County National Bank, 1 S. Second Street, Clearfield.
