Gary L. Stewart Sr., 77, of Curwensville died on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born on October 21, 1940 in Clearfield, a son of the late Mansfield and Jessie Stewart.

Mr. Stewart served with the U. S. military for 23 years, retiring from the National Guard. He had also been employed as a foreman at Harbison Walker Refractories and an equipment operator with PennDOT. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was also a life member of the NRA.

He is survived by his son, Gary L. Stewart Jr. and wife Jacqueline of Boyertown; three grandchildren, Kelly Blackledge and husband Gary, Megan Stewart and Jonathan Stewart; and a brother, Michael Stewart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Bennett) on July 15, 2004.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday at 1 PM.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 AM - 1PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
