Gary Summers, 75, of Grampian died on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
He was born on March 4, 1946 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Richard Summers and Pauline (Phillips) Rescinito.
Gary worked for NARCO for 35 years, and then later retired after five years with Appalachian Wood.
He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed tying jigs and digging bottles.
Mr. Summers served with the U. S. Army attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Cooper) Summers whom he wed January 6, 1968 in Providence, RI; three children, Bryan Summers and companion Hallie Reihart of Huntingdon, Dawn Sloppy and husband Bob of Kerrmoor, and Steve Summers and wife April of Grampian; eight grandchildren, Josh Sylvester and companion Gabrielle, Tiffany Sylvester, Olivia Sylvester, Robbie Daub, Jordan Summers, Elizabeth Summers, Brianna Summers, and MaKenna Derrick; two step grandchildren, Hope and Jaxon; seven great-grandchildren, Connor, Scarlett, Adeline, Eli, Emma Rose, Terry III, and Braylen; and three sisters, Connie Clapsaddle and husband Bernard of Sierra Vista, AZ, Linda Smeal of Clearfield, and Carol Hudson of Hyde.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Thomas Smeal.
Honoring Gary's wishes, there will be no public services.
