Genevieve Kane

June 3, 1917 — February 11, 2006

Genevieve Kane, 88, of South Second St., Clearfield died on Saturday, February 11, 2006.

She was born on June 3, 1917 in St. Benedict, PA, a daughter of the late Stanislaus and Ladislava Lepkosky.

Mrs. Kane was a homemaker, a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society.

She is survived by four children, Michael Kane and wife Anne of Milledgeville, GA, Mary Frances Stiffler of Goodyear, AZ, Patricia C. Crago and husband J. Christopher of Clearfield and Barbara Anderson and husband Hayward of Marinette, WI; six grandchildren, Allison Stiffler, Heidi Johnson, Scott P. Crago, Elizabeth Anderson, Jason Kane and Shannon Saltsman; five great grandchildren; a brother and a sister, Aloysius Lepkosky of Cleveland, OH and Cecelia Gray of Carrolltown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Kane on December 22, 1989 and whom she married September 25, 1940 in Clearfield, a son Daniel R. Kane, two brothers Desmond and Blair Lepkosky and two sisters, Sophia Petty and Anna Lepkosky.


Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, Friday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Friday from 9-9:30 AM.

At the funeral home Thursday, a Christian vigil service will be held at 1:45 PM and the rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 South Front Street, Clearfield PA 16830 or Clearfield Foundation for Health - Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield PA 16830.
