George Heck

George Lewis Heck, 80

of 909 Cumberland Street, Clearfield died on Friday, February 25, 2005 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on August 10, 1924 in Clearfield, a son of the late David Lewis and Dowella (Bush) Heck.

Mr. Heck was employed by AMP Incorporated in Greensboro, NC, in personnel management, retiring in 1987. He and his wife returned to Clearfield in 1993.
He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield, the Fourth Ward Elk Hose Co. for over fifty years, the Free and Accepted Masons, Clearfield Lodge No. 314 and the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6.
He served in the US Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Julia R. (Ray) Heck, whom he married April 3, 1947 in Clearfield

Patricia Ann Barrow and husband Thomas Harrisburg
Kathy Lynne Heck Greensboro, NC

a granddaughter,
Stacy Brooks and husband Darold Memphis, TN

two great grandchildren,
Jacob and grace

sister,
Margaret Edgren Clearfield
and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Elizabeth Smeal and Elsie Dingler.

Graveside services will be held in the chapel of the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde on Wednesday at
2:00 P.M. with Rev. Matthew C. Holbert officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 and the Clearfield VFW Post 1785 Honor Squad.

There will be no public visitation.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Parkinson's Disease Association, 60 Bay Street, Suite 401, Staten Island, NY 10301 or to the American Cancer Society, 119 E. Market Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
