George S. Shaffer, 83
of 467 Stronach Road, Grampian died on Monday, October 4, 2004 at his residence.
He was born on June 21, 1921 in Grampian, a son of the late Charles and Myrtle (Segar) Shaffer.
Mr. Shaffer retired from Agway and was previously employed by the former Harbison Walker Refractories and the former Nelson Milling.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Robert Ferguson Post #842 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Lowther) Shaffer, whom he married December 31, 1941, four children

He was the last surviving member of his generation, having been preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and four sisters, Tom, Paul, LaVaue, Droze, Dick, Jim, and John Wayne Shaffer, Goldie Clapsadle, Cora Shaffer, Ellen Young, and Violet Gill.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Saturday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. Emmett Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Post Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9:00 PM and on Saturday from
10-11:00 AM.
