Gerald B. Bock, 83
of Clearfield died on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on September 12, 1924 in Wallaceton, a son of the late Bruce D. and Ethel (Hummel) Bock.
Mr. Bock retired as postmaster from the Wallaceton Post Office after 20 years of service.
He was a member of the Wallaceton United Methodist Church and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He served in the US Army during World War II.
He is survived by a son, Jerry Bock and wife Gloria of Clearwater, FL; two grandsons, Darren M. Bock of Davie, FL and Dr. Ryan M. Bock of Long Beach, CA; three brothers and four sisters, Melvin Bock of Clearwater, FL, Merlin Bock and wife Clarabell of Philipsburg, C. Phillip Bock and wife Mary of Tyrone, Nellie Smeal and husband Russell of Havertown, Lois McGee of Curwensville, Jane Smeal of Levitown, Dessa Shimmel and husband Roger of Wallaceton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline A. (Smeal) Bock on November 15, 2007 and whom he married September 25, 1942 in West Decatur, a brother Quenton Bock and a sister Violet Graham.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rodger J. Gorton officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the Clearfield VFW Post #1785 honor guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Monday from 10-11:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield.
