Gerald L. 'Jerry' DeLisle, 70, of Curwensville died on Friday, September 13, 2024 at his home.
He was born on February 5, 1954 in Clearfield, a son of the late Allen R. and Esther (McBride) DeLisle.
Jerry was a 1972 graduate of Clearfield High School. He had been employed by Al Hamilton Coal Co. as well as Allegheny Enterprise Coal Company. In the late 1970's, Jerry earned his private pilot license and also an Instrument Rating. Jerry became an Instrument Flight Instructor, a Commerical Pilot, and a Helicopter Pilot. Jerry was also an Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic. He also had worked for Tim Lanager and Kephart Trucking as a pilot as well as training many pilots from the local area. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed Sprint Car Racing and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife, Denise (McBride) DeLisle whom he wed on October 26, 1974; and two sons, Doug DeLisle and wife Paula of Hyde, and David DeLisle of Lanse. Jerry is also survived by his dog, Rat.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Holly DeLisle; a brother, Richard DeLisle; and a sister, Judy Farwell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
