Gertrude M. Kelley, 79
of Clearfield died on Friday, August 15, 2003 at her residence.
She was born on July 12, 1924 in Clearfield, PA, a daughter of the late Edward T. and Gertrude (McManus) Kelley.
Miss Kelley was employed by Bunge Corporate Offices in NY for fifteen years, serving as senior personnel manager and also as assistant personnel manager for Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. of NY for seventeen years. In addition, she was employed by the Department of Public Assistance in Clearfield as a senior personnel assistant for five years.
A 1947 graduate of Penn State University, she returned to Clearfield in 1989 from New York City and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews
and 9 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Kelley and Patricia E. Soult.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Tuesday at 10:00 AM with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
At the request of Miss Kelley, there will be no public visitation.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front Street, Clearfield or St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield.
The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
