Gilbert M. Boal, 75, of Clearfield was called to his heavenly home on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Hilltop Healthcare and Rehab, Altoona.
He was born on April 14, 1949 in Summit, NJ, a son of the late Lester G. and Betty (Bloom) Boal.
Gilbert graduated from Curwensville High School in 1968. He had owned his own truck and worked for various companies around the area. He enjoyed watching wildlife and gardening. He also loved to travel having visited 48 states.
He was a member of former Clearfield Masonic Lodge #314 where has served as lodge master six times and a member of the Noble Lodge #480. He was also the past sovereign prince of the Williamsport Lodge and also received the Maritorial Service Award. Gilbert served with the U. S. Army from February 1969 - February 1975.
He is survived by his partner, Jeanne Brown; a son, Shane L. Boal of Clearfield; two brothers, James M. Boal of Oil City, and Orville Lines of Hagerstown, MD; four sisters, Deanna Brady and husband Tom of Oil City, Cindy Rogers and husband Ron of Clearfield,, Lill Baughman of Oil City, and Edie Lines of Oil City; a step brother, Bill Lines of Curwensville; a step sister, Patty Errigo and husband Gene of Curwensville; and a couple dear friends, Bill Guiher and Fred Bloom.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, David, Russell, and Gary Boal; a sister, Cheryl Larock; and a step brother, Dan Lines.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Saturday on Saturday at 11 AM with Rev. Steve Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Centre Cemetery, Hyde.
Military honors will be accorded at funeral home by the members of the Dubois Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 PM and Saturday from 10-11 AM.
A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 PM.
