Gwendolyn Stephens

Gwendolyn A. 'Gwen' Stephens, 73, of Woodland, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Stephens was born February 14, 1951, in Philipsburg, the daughter of the late Denzil and Betty (McDowell) Keener.

She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1969 and then attended the DuBois Business College. Mrs. Stephens was employed as a secretary at the Bigler YMCA and also worked at the Clearfield Cheese factory. She was also the caregiver for her mother. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her family, making crafts, and playing cards.

Mrs. Stephens is survived by her husband Earl, whom she married on June 17, 1972 in Clearfield; two children, Jason (Becky) Stephens of Somerset, and Bethany (James) Griffith of Reidsville, NC; eight grandchildren, Carly Stephens, Emily (Jesse Carter) Ross, Bradley (Christina Anthony) Ross , James Kele Griffith, Bryce Griffith, Benjamin Ross, Ethan Ross, Abigail Griffith; two great grandchildren, Caroline and Jaxon; a brother, Keith (Andrea 'Andy') Keener; and a niece, Grace Keener.

A memorial service will be held at The Vine Church, Clearfield on Wednesday at 1 PM with Pastor Brenda Libreatori officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of choice.
